Jen Foxx - Synths, Electronic Percussion, Programming.

Musical history:
I’ve been watching MTV since it first aired. As a kid, I remember always
mirroring the image of my favorite performers; i.e. - Axl and Slash when
I was 10 years old, sitting in my driveway with my best friend smoking
cigarette butts we found. I received my first guitar when I was 12, and
taught myself how to play.
In 10th grade, I discovered the Smiths, and since then I’ve wanted to
make really inspiring, new and unique music. I’ve tried to record my own
songs (just messing around in my bedroom) using karoake machines and
weird contraptions, but I refused to let anyone hear the results.
I have always aspired to write music but haven’t actually done so
seriously until 2004.. After being so influenced by music my entire life, it
is coming to me naturally. I hope to bring something unique to Provision.
Influences:
Nick Rhodes of Duran Duran; he always looks so stunning behind his
station effortlessly making us purr with his arpeggiator, strings, and
beeps. Kurt Harland of Information Society; his image and his (and Paul
Robb’s) master plan inspired me always. A few others over the years in
no paticular order: the Smiths, Depeche Mode, David Bowie, Visage,
Ultravox, Gary Numan, and a lot of the playlist you’d hear at #’s on a
Friday night in Houston back in the day.
Favorite movies:
Real Genius, Urgh! A Music War, Sing Blue Silver, Micromusic, Office
Space, and most eighties films.
Favorite synthesizers:
Roland Jupiter series, Roland Jx3p, Access Virus KC
Favorite colors:
Black and Hot Pink
Favorite drink:
Ice water
Favorite food:
Japanese and Mexican, anything sweet
Favorite cities:
San Francisco, Chicago, London
Favorite Provision songs:
Someone Like You. My favorite song to play is Obvious.
Most memorable Provision show:
Wichita, Kansas - December 1st 2004; arriving three hours late to play
every song plus an encore, to a small group of fans who danced right
beside us wanting more and more.
Other Interesting Facts:
I enjoy hearing about the paranormal, UFO’s, the unknown. I’ve always
wanted to join a ghost hunting club, or just visit haunted places. I also
enjoy watching most of the Star Trek series; TNG is my least favorite.
(I have the Star Trek logo tattooed on my right shoulder blade.)
