| Provision "Innocence" - Wednesday, June 26, 2002 http://www.synthpop.net This EP is my introduction to the band Provision, who as of late have made a name for themselves with a hit live performance at Synthcon 2002. The lineup of the band has changed somewhat since the release of this EP, with one of the two male members, leaving the band composed of 2 females and a male lead singer. Should be interesting to see how the change affects the band's sound. My initial thoughts on listening to the disc were the marked similarity between Provision and the sound of early-era Information Society. The pop elements of the two bands a really quite similar. The only real downside I found to this is that several of the higher tempo tracks start to sound somewhat alike. Each and every song is fun, dance-able synthpop music, but I'm left with the feeling that the band needs to experiment with different sounds a bit more.
